Google Trekkers spotted in European cities

Gen 4 Trekkers spotted all around European cities

Google has been starting to send its new trekkers around new cities and countries. Recently, there were jobs offering for Gen 4 trekker jobs from JSAN in LinkedIn, and they included cities that didn't have Gen 4 pedestrian coverage. They have started to do pedestrian coverage in small and new cities around Europe. Most of these trekkers, surprisingly, have been spotted around cities with only Gen 3 trekkers or none for the fact.

Trekkers in the UK

In the UK, it seems that they're focusing on doing Gen 4 pedestrian coverage in smaller cites. For the past few months, trekkers have been spotted in many cities in the UK including Blackpool, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Preston, and Nottingham. There were also job listings from JSAN in Manchester, Sheffield, Leicester, Belfast, Bradford, Portsmouth, and London

Trekkers in new cities

For the past few months many of these trekkers have been spotted in new cities in Europe including, Stockholm, Vienna, Budapest, and Karlsruhe. Most of these cities only had Gen 3 trekkers from 5-7 years ago, but now they are being redone with Gen 4 trekkers. The images shown below are in Budapest and Stockholm

Trekkers being updated in cities

It seems that Google is updating pedestrian coverage in Brussels and Warsaw. These cities had only pedestrian coverage from almost 2-3 years ago, but it is nice that they're redoing the coverage again.

JSAN trekker job offers

In August 5th, job offers for pedestrian camera operators were posted by JSAN consulting group in LinkedIn, and again most of these offers were held in cities without any Gen 4 trekker coverage. The new European countries included in these job offers were Denmark, Bulgaria, Czechia, Austria, and Norway. There were also job offers posted in new cities such as Leipzig, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Düsseldorf, Geneva, Genoa, Palermo, Antwerp, and Montpellier.

The job offers posted by JSAN.

Seeing all these job offers, and trekker spottings, this will be a huge moment for trekkers, but on the other hand, there is a possibility that some of these trekkers would remain unpublished since Google usually unpublishes coverage from them because it is too high quality. We can hope that all of these trekker get published

Thanks to salad for finding information about these trekkers and the rest of the VirtualStreets volunteers for finding these spottings.
